150th Anniversary of Lower King and Queen Baptist Church Was Held

The members of Lower King and Queen Baptist Church, also known as Ware's Church, in Dragonville, celebrated the sesquicentennial anniversary of their church on October 8, 1922. The congregation was established in 1773 with seventeen members. Early in the nineteenth century the church moved to its current location. The present building was dedicated in 1921. In June 2007 the Virginia Department of Historic Resources approved a state highway marker to be installed at the church's site commemorating the church's history.
