Paul E. Torgersen Hall Was Dedicated at Virginia Tech
On the first Friday of October 2000, Paul E. Torgersen Hall was dedicated on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. The building was named for the fourteenth president of Virginia Tech, Paul Ernest Torgersen. President from 1994 to 1999, after serving as interim president twice, in 1988 and in 1993, Torgersen was credited with promoting the widespread use of information and communication technologies at the university. Torgersen Hall was built integrating top-of-the-line computer technology for the use of faculty and students.
