2/5/45 Dear Mother, I have been hoping to hear from you every week but I haven’t receive any so far, I hope you have been getting mine. I am fine as usual. Hoping you are the same, I suppose Floyd is a big man by now, I shore would like to get a box of candy and cake from home, but I hope it is over soon so I can get out of this place and get back home where I belong, so don't worry to much about me. I am doing the [part of page missing] I can to care for myself, I hope [part of page missing] is still waiting for me to return I think about everything in here to, I hope Brother & Neenie & the baby are fine I hope he gets home real often two see you, I hope you had a fine XMAS and Floyd two how is the winter days,I suppose it was snow for XMAS, so this is all I can write for the time hoping to hear from you soon and [ineligible] to.
