1 The Deposition of George W. Rust and others taken on Friday the 28 of March 1845 at the Swift Shoal Mill in the County of Clarke to be had in evidence in behalf of James C. Mitchell in a suit depending in the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery for Warren County in which John J Johnston is Pltf: and said James C Mitchell and others are Defts: — by consent of parties Deponent being of lawful age and first sworn deposeth and says Ques by Deft: Were you in Philadelphia during the last Winter if so state the period and length of time Ans I arrived there the 3rd of November 1844 and left the last of February 1845 Ques by same During that period was Wm A Mitchell in Philadelphia Ans Yes for the whole time that I was there Quest by Pltf's counsel In what was said Wm A Mitchell engaged in Ans He was attending the medical lectures at Jefferson College Ques by same Were you also attending said lectures Ans Yes. Ques by same State what are the expenses necessarily incident to that scholl and general expenses for boarding &c in Philadelphia Ans The cost for fees to Professors of said school for boarding &c is Three hundred dollars — one could not live comfortably with a less sum.
