I Arthur S Davies Clerk of the County Court of Gloucester do hereby certify that Jim a negro man slave the property of Joel Hayes tried at April Court 1831 for breaking & entering the store house of Sterling Rowe and taking stealing and carrying away from thence a large quantity of goods consisting of sugar coffee and found guilty of the said offence and sentenced to be hung, was valued by the said court at the price of two hundred dollars Arthur S.
