Note 1. After Judge Harrison had advanced this objection to the Va. delegation of women in 1917 (December), Mrs. Lewis asked Carter Glass the specific question whether he considered this a danger. He said that he did not. Note 2. If Judge had such grave fears in 1917, why didn't he start then to do something about it? This letter was written Dec. 6, 1919, after reading Mrs Valentine's letter.
