The Depostion of Garrot Topping of Lawful age being duly sworn on the Holy Evangalists of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith that he has known a negroe late the property of Levin Joynes since the year 1780 or 1781. that the said Joynes held him as his Slave from the said Date until Novr. or Decemr. last when he was sold as this Deponent understood to Charles Frazer The said Slave being named Southy and was the only one of that name the said Joynes has had in his possession since his acquaintance in the family and further saith not Ga. Topping Taken and sworn to before me 22d Sept. 1791. The word Joynes in the fifth line was interlined before before it was sworn to by this Deponent Tully Wise
