To the worshipful Court of Prince Edward County The Petition of Aaron, respectfully showeth, that he was formerly held in Slavery by Andrew Baker late of this County, now deceased, That your petitioner was freed by the said Andrew Baker in his lifetime & discharged from his service. That shortly after this on the death of the said Andrew, his Executors, being Andrew Baker Jr, John Baker & Catherine Baker, took possession of the Petitioner as the property of sd. Andrew Baker dec'd. & sold the Petitioner, that Catherine Baker widow & Exe'x. of said Andrew Baker dec'd. became the Purchaser & now holds the Petitioner. The said Executors alledging [alleging] as a pretext for their attempting to enslave the Petitioner that there was some informalities [informality] in the manner in which your Petitioner was liberated.
