The Deposition of John[Chumley taken before us magistrates for the County of Prince Edward in a suit Aaron agt the Executors of Andrew Baker decd & Catherine Baker The said Chumbley being of lawful age & first sworn saith, he went to Mr. Andrew Baker (now dead) to hire the Plt. Mr. Baker said if he, this deponant, & Plt. could agree he had no objection, and that the Plt. was in his own man, for said he, the Plt had bought his time of him, as he the Plt had hired himself out four years 1200 lb Tobacco per year, for the purpose of getting Tobacco to pay him, which he had paid him, the Plt. himself. This Deponant further saith that this sd. Andrew Baker departed this life in the spring of the year, & the conversation above stated, happened in the fall of the year preceeding, & further he saith not John Chumley his X mark
