The Commonwealth of Virginia. To any two Judges or Justices of the peace in the County of Hampshire County State of Massachusetts, who will certify themselves to be such. Know ye that we trusting to your fidelity and provident circumspection in diligently examining Sylvester Graham a witness on behalf of Unice, Andrew, Cena and Julius paupers in a suit now depending in our Circuit Superior Court of Law & Chancery for Rockbridge County Virginia, between the said Unice, Andrew, Cena and Julius plaintiffs and John McTaylor adm. of James Charlton deceased, John S. Charlton, William B. Charlton, Charles Charlton, William Currin and Rhoda his wife, Joseph Miller and Matilda his wife, Cyrus U Robinson and Lucinda his wife and Elizabeth Charlton Defendants command you or any two or more of you that such certain day and place as you shall appoint you assemble yourselves and the witness aforesaid before you, or any two or more of you, you call and cause to come and diligently examine on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God, and his examination into our said Court of Rockbridge County distinctly and plainly without delay, you shall send and certify enclosed, returning also this writ.
