Know all men by these Presents that we Robert Lowery of the County of Chesterfield & State of South Carolina, John Lowry of Anson County State of North Carolina, & John May of same County & State for & in Consideration of the Sum of Eighty pounds to us in Hand paid the Reciet [Receipt] whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained & sold unto James Saullis one negro Girl, with her future Increase, &c We do hereby for ourselves & our Heirs warrant & defend the sd negro slave Ruth with her future Increase, to the sd James Saullis against the Claim & Demand of all persons whatsoever[.] Witness our Hands & Seals this 5th day of June 1795.
