State of North Carolina Anson County }Pursuant to a commission to us William Dismuks

and Jerimiah Benton [touted?] two of the justices of the peace of the county of Anson in the state of North Carolina, in a cause depending in the superior court of Montgomery county in the state of Virginia, wherin Ruth and her children are plaintiffs and James Sallust deft, we have caused William Mendenhall, Judith Lowry, Elizabeth Lowry and Judith Boggan witnesses in the said commission named to appear before us at the house of William Mendenhall in the town of Wadesborough in the state and county aforesaid on this 15th day of Jan 1819 the said witnesses being duly sworn, deposith and saith, and aswerith as follows to the interrogatories on behalf of the plaintiff Interrogatory 1st to William Mendenhall the first witness named, Are acquainted with the plaintiffs and defendant in the commission named
