The Commonwealth of Virginia to the sheriff of Montgomery County Greeting: we command you to Summon William Sutphen to appear before the Justices of our County Court of Montgomery at the Court -house on the fifth day of the present Court to testify & the truth to say in behalf of John Hook & Zac Standley in a certain matter of controversy in our said Court, before our said Justices depending and undetermined between Nancy Pagee & others plaintiffs & said Hook & others defendants and this they shall in no wise omit under the penalty of £100 and have then there this writ Witness Charles Taylor clerk of our said Court the 6th day of April 1804 In the 28th year of our foundation.
