The Commonwealth of Virginia to the Sheriff or any sworn Office of Franklin County we Command you to summons John Ferguson George Ferguson and Alexander Ferguson Snr to appear before us on Monday the 24th of this month at Franklin Courthouse, to testify and the truth to say in behalf of John Hook in a certain matter of controversy depending and undetermined before the worshipful the Judges of the County Court of Montgomery County between Nanny Pegee and others her children plaintiffs and Zachariah Stanley and John Hook defendants _ This in conformity to a didimus to us directed from the Clerk of Said Court Commanding that we cause to come before us and diligently examine the Witness aforesaid. fail not herein as you the said John Ferguson George Ferguson and Alexander Ferguson Sr the witnesses above named shall answer the contrary under the penalty of fine and damages sustained by your failure herein.
