1848 February 29th Received of Robert Healy trustee and receiver under a decree of the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery for Middlesex County in which Judy Wood and others are plaintiffs and Elliott Gardner admor of Charles Watts dec'd and others are defendants the sum of four hundred and eighty eight dollars and thirty eight cents the full amount in his hands as said receiver as exhibited by the foregoing statement, I receive this sum as the agent of Richard A. Claybrook admr de bonis non of Edmund H. Montague dec'd as per order of the plaintiffs and also as the agent selected by the plaintiffs to convey them to a free state, I having conveyed them to the city of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania. Pursuant to the annexed decree in suit of Judy Wood & others vs. Elliott Gardner & others I have rec'd of the several Defts. the amounts respective by decree against them as per statement hereto annexed. The plaintiffs having first selected Ed H. Montague to remove them to a free state and given him an order on me for the amount due them & he the said Montague dieing before they were removed they the plaintiffs after wards Selected Mr. Robert N. Trice to Remove them & he the said Trice having removed the plaintiffs to the City of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania upon said Trice's presenting the order of the plaintiffs aforenamed which is hereto annexed I have paid him the balance for his receipt herewith.
