To the Hon. Richard H. Baker Judge of the Circuit Court holden for the County of Isle of Wight Humbly complaining sheweth unto the Court by way of amendment to their bill formerly filed / your Complainant Barbara for herself and her children to wit Lucy Ann, Jim, Pocahontas, Solomon, Anaka, Elizabeth and Lewis, Isham, Tempe, Amelia Ann, Virginia, and Rufus, persons of Colour suing in forma pauperis[.] Your Compl states by way of amendment to her former bill that the said Jeremiah Delk and Margaret his wife formerly Margaret Warren in her own right Saml. D Delk, Jeremiah S Delk and Thomas J B Delk infant children of afsd Jeremiah Delk and Margaret his wife, the said Jeremiah Delk admor. of Cherry Warren dec'd and Lewis a free person of Colour Emancipated by the late Dawson Warren dec'd were intended to be made parties Defts to said bill but were inadvertently omitted. Your Complts prays that they be now made parties to Lewis has been emancipated & has removed beyond the Comth of Va. & without the Jurisdiction of the Court and cannot be reached by process of this Court he having left the Comth. before [initiation?] of suit. Your Complt prays that they be now be made parties to this on [illegible] & amended bills in as full and ample manner as if they had been made parties thereto originally, and that the Court may [be?] Decree your Complts to be free and entitled to Compensation & remuneration for their detention in Slavery by said Delk, and that your Honor will direct such accounts to be taken by one of its Comls. as maybe necessary under such other Equity permits Your Complt prays the Comth writ of Spa.Commanding etc. & your Complts will [ever pray?] &c[.] Whitfield & Graves pg
