In the name of God Amen. I Mary L. Parish of the Town of Petersburg do make this my last Will and Testament -- First. I commend myself entirely to the Disposal of my gracious Redeemer hoping for eternal life through him -- Secondly. It is my desire that my slaves Ned, Uriah, Wyatt, Kenny, Hannah and Betsey shall have their free choice of liberty on the condition that they agree, within One year from the day of my decease to go to the Colony of Liberia in Africa. And in case all or any of them shall choose their freedom on the above condition that they be furnished with the means of transportation to said Colony. But if any or all of them should refuse to accept their freedom on the terms aforesaid, then it is my will that they be valued by three judicious men and that they have the priviledge of choosing their own purchasers at the prices fixed in the said valuation. 3rdly. Whereas I have in my possession three slaves Kendal[,] Lucy and Ezekiel in which my brother Doctor Arch'd. A. Campbell and my sister Frances Eppes are interested to the amount each of one fourth and myself one half It is my desire that they should be appraised, and that if my brother and sister will agree to receive each one fourth of their valuation for their interest in said slaves, that then they be offered their freedom upon the above Conditions. But if my brother and sister aforesaid will not so agree, then I wish them to take the said slaves and pay to my executors the half of their valuation. 4thly.
