found the pltff is in law entitled to his freedom, we find that he is free and assess his damage, to one cent, otherwise we find that the plaintiff is not free but a slave Josiah Smith "And there is allowed for [the?] matters of law arrising upon the said special Verdict to be argued and considered. This day came the parties by their attornies and thereupon the matter of law arriving upon the Special Verdict rendered in their Cause on the 8. day of this month being argued and [illegible] considered it is the Opinion of the Court that the law if for the plt.
