To the Hon'ble William Gooch Esq:r his Maties [Majesty's] Lieut Governor and Commander in Chief of this Dominion

Benja Woodson humbly Sheweth

That long since there was surveyed for Thomas Ottley four hundred acres of land lying on Licking hole Creek then Henrico (now Goochland) County,

That the said Ottley hath not complied with the Order of Government in suing out a Patent for the same, whereby your petr [petitioner] conceives the survey aforesaid is become void;

Wherefore he humbly prays for a Grant of the said Land

And he shall pray &c.
