Mr Newton Dr [Dear] Sir I recd yours of this 23rd on this subject of the stocks. The stock of the New Shenandoah Co is worth very little - It brings not quite one dollar to the share per year therefore do not give more than about three dollars per share for it. Perhaps it would would be as well to let it go with the rest for what it will bring - When ever you have any money for me deposite [sic] it to my credit in the Central Bank and apprize [apprise] me of it as soon as convenient. The course which you are pesuing [pursing] with the stocks I suppose is the best that can be done, and will occasion least difficulty Very respectfully yours J. C. Mohler
