Iowa Hill Feb 18th 1860 Mr. John Newton Dear sir I received of Jan 11th, Stating you had not heard from me since September last I wrote to you about the first of November directing you to send the money due my wife, at the same time I wrote to Dave Steele concerning the same thing I cannot see why both letters failed, I wrote to you the first of Feb which you ought to receive the first of March and at the same time I wrote to Dave our Address you have Iowa Hill Placer, Co, California, or Iowa City either will do, if you have not received either of our letters, please as soon as possible, send the money in a check or some good bank in New York I will need the money much by the first of March, as I have purchased land
