Commonwealth of Massachusetts To the Honorable the Justices of the Superior court for the Transaction of Criminal Business, holden at Boston, within and for the County of Suffolk, on the first Monday of September in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and seventy-seven Respectfully represents Patrick O'Neil of Boston aforesaid, that he was born at Clogheel [Clogheen] in the County of Tipperary in Ireland on or about the seventeenth day of March in the year eighteen hundred and forty two and is now about thirty five years of age: that he arrived at Boston in the United States of America, on or about twenty fifth day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixty six; that it then was, and still is, his bona fide intention to become a citizen of the United States of America, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, State, Potentate and Sovereignty whatsoever more especially to Victoria, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, whose subject he has heretofore been. He therefore prays that this, his Declaration, may become a record of this Court, agreeable to the laws in such case provided. Patrick O'Neil Suffolk, to wit: Superior court, Sept Term, viz.: Sept 26th 1877 Then the said Patrick O'Neil personally appeared before the said Court, and made oath to the truth of said facts as set forth in the above declaration to the Court, by him subscribed.
