STATE OF VIRGINIA. At a Court held for Norfolk County the 25th day of October, 1856 Patrick Curren an alien, who has lately arrived in the United States, and is desirous of being naturalized a citizen thereof, this day appeared in Court, and in pursuance of the Act of Congress made a report of himself, which report is in the following words, to-wit: I, Patrick Curren in order to become a citizen of the United States, make the following report of myself to the County Court of Norfolk County I report that I was born in Galway County Ireland in the year 1833 being now in the 23 year of my age; that I am subject of Victoria Queen of Great Britain owing allegiance to that monarch, and none other; that I migrated from Ireland to the United States in November the year of 1851, and that I intend to settle myself in the Town of Portsmouth, in the State of Virginia, one of the United States. Given under my hand this 25 day of October, 1856 Patrick Curren
And the said Patrick Curren declares an oath that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Arthur Emmerson c.c.
