The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, } ALLEGHENY COUNTY, }Sct. I, George R. Riddle Prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, do by these presents certify; that on Thursday the 5 day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four P Devine a native of Ireland and heretofore a subject of the Queen of Great Britain & Ireland came before me, and having been duly sworn according to law, made his declaration stating that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and renouncing and abjuring all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty whatever, and particularly renouncing and abjuring all allegiance and fidelity to the Queen Of Great Britain & Ireland whereof he was a former subject.
