STATE OF VIRGINIA. AT a Court held for Norfolk County the 17th day of October, 1854 Peter Curran an alien, who has lately arrived in the United States, and is desirous of being naturalized a citizen thereof, this day appeared in Court, and in pursuance of the Act of Congress made a report of himself, which report is in the following words, to wit: I, Peter Curran make the following report of myself to the worshipful Court of Norfolk County I was born in the Kingdom of Great Britain in Ireland in the County of Galway, Town of Kildoe in the Parish of Shiddon in the year 1828 am a subject of Victoria the first, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and landed in the City of New York in the State of New York in the year 1854 on the 2d day of July and intend to settle in the State of Virginia & County of Norfolk he makes this report of himself for the purpose of becoming a citizen of the United States.

Given under my hand this 16 day of Octo. 1854

And the said Peter Curran declared on oath that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland
