I, GEORGE DENEALE, Clerk of the United states Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, for the County of Alexandria, do hereby certify, That at a Court continued and held for the District and County aforesaid, the Thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and Twelve and of the Independence of the United States of America, the Thirty seventh John West of the City of London in Great Britain came personally before the said Court, and made oath in due form of Law, that it is bona fide, his intention to become a Citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly the Sovereignty of the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland which is ordered to be recorded and certified.
