Alexandria County Sct James Kerr & Norman R. Fitzhugh citizens of the United States and Inhabitants of the District of Columbia, respectively appeared before me the subscriber & [illegible] made oath in due form of law that Edward Smith hath resided for the five years last passed within the United States and within the County of Alexandra & District of Columbia one year last passed and that during the aforesaid five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character and attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States & and will dispose to the good order & happy [wife? info?] of the same.
