District of Columbia to wit.

On the ninth day of July 1812 William Brent of the City of Washington personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Washington in the District of Columbia who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he is acquainted with Robert King within named now Surveyor of the City of Washington that he hath resided within City of Washington before the year eighteen hundred and two, and that he hath continued to reside in the said City of Washington ever since that time to the present time accept a visit to England for a few months during which time he has conducted himself as a man of good moral character, and as one attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
