BE IT REMEMBERED, THAT Claudius Durand late of France appeared in the Marine Court of the City of New York, held in the City Hall of the said City on the first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and declared ON OATH, in open Court, that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce, forever, all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty, whatsoever; and particularly to King of French In Testimony Whereof, the SEAL of the said MARINE COURT of the City of New York is hereunto affixed, this first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four, and of our Independence the 69th.
