For the better carrying on & perfecting the Battery and other works at Point Comfort I do hereby authorize & impower Major Wm Armistead Mr Nicholas Curle Capt Francis Ballard Capt Jno Moor & Mr Geo: Walker jointly & severally to inspect order and Command the pioneers and Workmen employed in the sd Service, and to give such directions for the more speedy finishing ye same as they shal find convenient Hereby requiring all ye sd Workmen to obey and follow the orders they shal receive from them or either of them As they will answer the contrary at their perill Given under my hand this 30th day of August 1711
