The Bethany Green Academy.

The Bethany Green Academy is located about one mile South of Bethel Church and two miles North of the two of Greenville, Augusta County, Va., at the home of the Principal. The design of this School is to prepare pupils for practical life or for the higher classes in College or University. We propose to develop alike the moral, the mental and the physical man, and the pupils who live in the school are under the care of the Principal or his Associate at all times. They will be treated as members of the family and the conduct of a gentleman will be expected and required. The course of study will be arranged to suit the tastes and requirements of the pupil, when it is left to the Principal. All pupils will be examined on entrance and classified to suit their wants and advancement. The Climate of the Valley of Virginia is too well known to need lengthy remarks. It is a resort for persons from all sections, who finds here pure fresh air, and water, noted for their health-giving properties. THE COURSE OF STUDY. The course of instruction is arranged under the following Schools, and classes will be formed in any of these whenever a sufficient number apply: the Higher courses being elective. First--Lower English. This includes all of the English Branches usually taught as far as Harvey's English Grammar and Rhetoric. Second--Higher English. This course includes any of the classes in Lower English and, Algebra, Geometry, Surveying, Physics, Chemistry, Ancient History, &c., &c. Third--Classical Course.
