Memorandum of Agreement made and executed into this 27th day of January 1857 between Sophia Keller of the one part and John Baldwin of the other part both of Augustus County and State of Virginia Witnesseth That the Above Sophia Keller has this day rented the Plantation on which she now lives to the said John Baldwin for the term of one year and on the same terms during her life - as long as they shall be agreeable. the said Sophia Keller reserves the two Rooms and Kitchen now occupied by her and two small rooms upstairs. Above the the rooms she occupies below with the privelige [privilege] of going upstairs through the lower room occupied by Baldwin when necessity may require it - the Said Baldwin is [to] give her one third of all the Grain raised on the farm. The Wheat and Rye to be delivered in any mill she may wish and the Corn in the Crib also One third of the hay on the Meadow - put in the Barn - Also on half of the Garden and the Said Baldwin is furnish her in plenty of Fire Wood - pasture for two Cows & is to have the privelige of Working her sorrel Horse Dick for his feed - during the term of the Lease which is to commence on the 1st day of Feby next said Baldwin is to give her the Said Sophia the one third of the present growing Crop in the Ground
