Know All Men By These Presents that I - John T. Shorter County of Roxbridge and Commonwealth of Virginia for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to me paid By William Allison of Rockbridge County and state of Virginia the reciept [sic] whereof is thereby acknowledged, do Give Grant sell and convey unto the said William Allison undivided all of my intrest [sic] in the lands of [illegible] J. Shorter intire esstate to have and to hold the same to the said William Allison his heirs and assigns to his and their [illegible] forever And I the said John T. Shorter covenant with the said Allison his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premisess that they are free from all in cumbrances that I have a Good right to sell the same as foresaid; and that I will warrant and defend the same to the said Allison his heirs and assigns against the lawful Claims and [illegible] of all persons; and Ninsy Jr, the wife of John T.
