This Deed made this 22nd day of December in the year 1858 Between James Allen and Alexandress his wife and Elizabeth Long of the County of Augusta and State of Virginia of the first part and John Newton Justice for Mary Jane Kesterson wife of Benj'n A. Kesterson of the Same County and State of the Second part Witnesseth, That in Consideration of the Sum of four hundred Dollars, the said James Allen and Alexandress his wife, and Elizabeth Long doth Grant with General Warranty unto the Said John Newton Trustee as aforsaid [aforesaid] all of a Certain Tract of Land lying in the County of Augusta and State of Virginia adjacent to the Lands of Adam Shultz and others and Containing Sixteen acres and Bounded as Follows. Begining [Beginning] at a shack in the middle of the Road Corner to Adam Shultz Thence N19 degrees.18 W 35.80 poles to a Locust Corner to A Shultz W 60 degrees 20 W 39 poles to a Stake in the middle of the Road Thence S43 degrees W26 poles to a Rock Thence S 27 degrees W 33 poles to a Rock Thence S 48 1/2 degrees E28.60 poles to a Rock in the middle of the Road Thence W 27 Degrees E45.32 poles to the Begining [beginning] and they [the] said James Allen and Alexandress his Wife and Elizabeth Long, Covenants that they are Lawfully seizest in fee of the above Granted premises that they have the Right to Convey the Same to the Said John Newton Trustee as aforesaid shall have quiet possession of the Said Land free from all Incumberance [encumbrance]; Witness the Following Signatures and Seals.
