6 ceas'd You as County trustee & myself as a warden of the poor - has accounts to settle in our respective capacitys [capacities] which I thot [thought] You refused to settle on Terms that I thot [thought] right. You have since told me that you knew himself to be wrong but being right with me had acted so out of ambition. I heard afterwards that he settled with my successors agreeably to the Terms I proposed to settle with him[.] B. Davis
