Pleas at Lunenburg Courthouse on Thursday the Tenth Day of December, in the fourteenth year of the Commonwealth, and in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty nine

Be it remembered, that at a Court held for the County of Lunenburg the Tenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine, Came Nathan Jones assignee of William Irby who was assignee of William Hayes, by his attorney, and on the motion of the said Nathan Jones assignee of William Irby who was assignee of William Hayes aforesaid, on a certain Delivery Bond taken on a Writ of fieri facias Sued out of this Court by the Plaintif against the estate of Peter Garland, which Bond are in these words, to wit, "Know all men by these presents, that we Peter Garland, Edward Garland and Anderson Bagley are held and firmly bound unto Nathan Jones assignee of William Irby, who was assignee of William Hayes in the just and full sum of Two hundred and fifty five pounds seven shillings and one penny, To be paid to the said Nathan Jones assignee of William Irby who was assignee of William Hayes his certain attorney his heirs, executor, administrators, or assigns. To which payment well and truly to be made, We bind ourselves jointly and Severally, and each of our joint and Several heirs, executors, and administrators, firmly by these presents, Sealed with our Seals, and Dated this fourth day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine, The Condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas David Street Deputy sheriff for Anthony Street, Sheriff of the County of Lunenburg hath this day served an execution of the said Nathan Jones assignee of William Irby, who was assignee of William Hayes against Peter Garland To the amount of one hundred and Twenty seven pounds thirteen shillings and six pence half penny, and Costs attending the same, upon the following property, to wit, four Negroes Jenny, James Hannah and Milly, and hath Delivered the said property to the said Peter Garland Edward Garland and Anderson Bagley agreeable to an act of assembly in that case made. Now if the said Peter Garland Edward Garland and Anderson Bagley shall well and Truly deliver the said property to the said Sheriff at any time or time place or places which he may appoint for the sale thereof, ready to be exposed to sale to satisfy the said execution , Then this obligation to be Void, or else to remain in full force and Virtue Peter Garland (Seal), Edward Garland (Seal) Anderson Bagley (Seal) Sealed and delivered in the presence of David Street." It appearing from the affidavit of George Craghead Gentleman. that the Defendant
