Brunswick County to wit Memorandum That on this thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five Daniel Shelton personally appeared before me James Harrison a justice of the peace of said county and undertook for Samuel Ezell in an action of Detinue now depinding and undetermined in the Brunswick District Court between John Ezell plaintiff and the said Samuel Ezell defendant that if the said Saml. shall be cash in the said suit, that he shall deliver up the slaves in the declaration mentioned or pay the value of them, or that he the said Daniel Shelton will do it for him.
