Abstract

Contains an order of the Charlotte County Court for the valuation of Ned, a slave belonging to William Russell, Jr., deceased, who was found guilty of murdering Russell. The order is signed by Thomas Read, Clerk of the Court. Also includes an order for the valuation of Will, a slave belonging to Joseph Williams, Jr., of North Carolina, charged with feloniously breaking open a mill belonging to Mary Read, and other burglaries. Lastly, there is a certificate of Sion Spencer, sheriff of Charlotte County, regarding the execution of Will on 7 March 1774.
