Abstract

Contains a bond of Charles Springer & John Miller of Augusta County, dated 1 April 1751, to Col. James Patton for seventy pounds three shillings and six pence on the condition that Springer or Miller pay Patton thirty-five pounds one shilling and nine pence on or before 1 May. The bond was sealed & delivered in the presence of John Poage & Adam Harman. The bond is certified by James McCorkle, C.M.C. Also includes a certificate of William Preston regarding the payment of the bond from the costs & quit rents paid for four hundred acres of land at Hands Meadows which John Craig gave bond in January 1768.
