Contains proceedings of the Council from 2 May 1716 regarding a patent for John Sutton & Michael Jenings in King William County; a list of nominations for sheriff for the ensuing year; the petition of Thomas Jones Merchant for land in Nansemond County; a new commission of peace for the counties of Middlesex, King & Queen, & Westmoreland; news of the success of his Majesty's forces against the rebels in Scotland; the petition of Charles Chiswell for land in Yorktown; the petition of Robert Slaughter for land in Essex County; a list of various warrants to be paid out of the revenue for the salaries of Alexander Spotswood as Lieutenant Governor, William Blathwait as Auditor General, Nathaniel Blakistone as Attorney General, John Clayton as Solicitor General, William Robertson as Clerk of the Council, Edward Ross as Gunner, Daniel Jones as Armourer, the King of the Saraw Indians, & others; and the petition of Charles Anderson, attorney of Col. Edward Hill, for land in King William County.
