Abstract

Contains a petition of Claude & Elizabeth Rouvierre, executors of Joseph Chermeson, to Lieutenant Governor Alexander Spotswood asking for a patent to issue for 100 acres of land in York County which Chermeson purchased from John Roberts. According to the petition, the land escheated from Richard Gilbert in 1708. Chermeson never obtained a patent for the land before his death, but devised it to his daughter.
