Abstract

Contains an order of the General Court to the sheriff of Nansemond County for the arrest of James Lockheart until he satisfies the costs of a suit against William Grandberry. The suit between Lockheart & Granberry related to a survey of Lockheart's land containing 1,500 acres granted to Phillip Bennett on 27 Dec. 1643. The order was copied & signed by Miles Cary, Clerk of the General Court. Includes photostat of transcription made on 28 Feb. 1947.
